JUNIOR LIBRARY SOCIETY

The Junior Library society was started under the guidance of Mrs.Thushara Abeykoon in the year 2019.The main task of this society is to perform various activities and competitions to make students to focus on reading and to develop their reading skills.

OBJECTIVES:

   •Giving a chance to write poems,essays to develop critical thinking of students.

    •To give a chance to become a better reader.

    •To activate and reinforce other skills such as grammar;vocabulary and writing of students.

• “Kalana Mithuru  Poth Sumithuru”

reading Promotion programme conducted by the library of Development Division of the Ministry of Education.

• Our students of Mahamaya Girls College Kandy had won

   -National Level ‘Platinum’ medals

   -Gold medals and

   -Silver Medals, who study in the  grades 6,7,8,9 and 11.
